Rainy days and playdates

Yesterday we had our normal Friday playdate at Holly's house (Miss Colly to Carter). The normal crew was there - Hope + Ella, Amy + Hayden and Caroline, Holly + Evan and Anna (Andrew was with his teacher but joined us at the very end). I really love playdate days because it gives Carter something to do with his friends, and gives me some time to chat with actual live adults! Thanks, Miss Colly for hosting wonderful playdates!

Alan had his post-op doctor's appointment as well, and the doctor said everything looks good (even though Alan still doesn't feel very well and can't do anything or eat much). He has lost 20 pounds in about a week - maybe I need to have that surgery ;) We're so glad that everything went well in the surgery, and we hope that this fixes his sleep apnea.

Last night, some of our other friends, the Fanchers and Cheslocks, delivered a very yummy dinner! Melissa Cheslock came by with her son Drew, who is the same age as Carter (down to the month), and we were so excited to learn that they will be in the same class starting next week at Mother's Day Out! I'm so glad that Carter will know someone already, and Drew is such a sweet little boy.

This morning we woke up and got ready to go to the Chelsea Health Fair. They were supposed to have inflatable bouncy houses and slides, face painting, and lots of fun stuff to do. However, by the time we got there it was raining too much to do anything. Alan took Carter to the face painting tent (Carter got a fish to match his shirt), just to say that we did something ;)

Since we had been talking about bouncy houses, we decided to try to go to Recreation Station, which has been one of our favorite places for some indoor fun. We were going to meet the Joneses there, only they called and told us the place had closed down earlier this month! What a disappointment! We decided to just go straight to their house so that the boys could play. Holly, Evan, Charlie and I went to Hobby Lobby for a little while to do some shopping for our jewelry business. We were there forever, staring at beads and other jewelry parts. Who knew this stuff was so confusing?!?

After Hobby Lobby, we ate dinner at Holly and Jonathan's. Jonathan made his famous chicken wings - yummy! Poor Alan couldn't eat any, so he ate noodles and drooled over the wings :( It had been a very long day, with no nap for Carter, so we left right after dinner and Carter went straight to bed! Tomorrow we are definitely going to try to make it to church. I've already laid out clothes and packed diaper bags, which is a much bigger head start than we normally have :)
