Giving Thanks

It's been a long time since my last update... We have been extremely busy, and we're still getting over our colds (Carter, Charlie and I have all been sick). Last Thursday was Carter's Thanksgiving program at school. They sang songs (quite a few) and did hand motions, and Carter did such a great job! He knew all the motions and songs so well and did them all! Last year at his old school's Christmas program, he froze when he got in front of everyone, but not this time! I guess that's the difference between age 2 and 3 :) He gets so proud every time we watch the video of the program, too.

Here is the 2-year-old class doing their part in the program (they were the Terrific Turkeys!). Next year, he will get to be an Indian or Pilgrim when he moves up to the older class.

With his turkey apron (sans the turkey headdress that came off during the program). We went to his classroom to see all his artwork - he was so proud!

Papa and Gigi came to watch the program, and Gigi spent the night since I wasn't feeling well and Alan was out of town. We were so grateful to have her help! Friday, we were still celebrating Carter's birthday week and we made a cookie cake. Carter did all the decorating himself, and he made a spiderweb with the icing and then put sprinkles on top! It was so much fun to make and yummy too :)

Charlie sat up in a buggy for the first time last week when we went to Wal-Mart!

That's so much better than the carseat!

Wednesday, we went to Nana and Pawpaw's house for our Thanksgiving with them. Carter and Charlie got to visit with Nana, Pawpaw, Eli, Jacob ,and Eli's girlfriend Brandy, and Carter got to ride on the 4-wheeler as usual :) We had the traditional Thanksgiving Chinese meal at Alan's favorite Chinese restaurant - yummy!

Carter fixed his own hair one day with the water bottle and brush - it looked awesome!

Thursday morning we were watching The Today Show, and Beyonce was on. She was wearing tight clothes and dancing, and Carter said, "Look at that LADY!" Then he started dancing like her - ha! Around lunchtime, we went to Cheryl's house for Thanksgiving with my side of the family. The food was great, and it was also wonderful to spend time with family. Carter played Cheryl's Wii and actually beat me at tennis. UGH!

Gigi made the fanciest and most beautiful cake ever! These pictures don't do it justice at ALL! The basket weave and chocolate leaves were all made by hand. She spent so much time and effort that we hated to cut it. But it didn't take us too long to be convinced... :) YUMMY!

My little pumpkin in his Thanksgiving outfit :)

Today we put up the Christmas tree and Carter helped with the ornaments. He put them all together in groups, and said that was so they can smile at each other. Then he started putting like ones together on the same branch and said that they had to stay with their family. He said it was so beautiful (and it was of course, but I still did a little rearranging for some reason). He's also full of drama these days... Yesterday he found a car he was looking for and said with great emphasis, "I've been looking for this EVERYwhere!" Today he was looking for something and said, "I'm NEVER gonna find it!"

Charlie eating his favorite snack (my favorite snack too!)

All done!
