Counting

Charlie is finally learning to count, but it’s so funny.  I heard him on the monitor in his crib this morning, saying, “3, 4, 8, 9, 10,” which in his language is, “Free, Pour, aaate, nahn, tin.”  He’s pretty Southern, already!  Those are the numbers he usually counts with.  Sometimes he starts with 1 and 2, but he usually always leaves out 5, 6, and 7.  If I ask him how many of something he wants, he holds out both hands (showing me ten fingers) and says, “Free, Pour.”  Every time.  It’s always 3, 4.  He got mad yesterday at 3 cookies, because he said he wanted 3, 4 and thought I didn’t give him that many.  When I showed him I gave him 3, he got excited and said, “Oh yay, free, pour!”
