We got there right around noon to drop Charlie off with Nana so she could watch him at Eli's trailer. We had really wanted to get there a little earlier and walk around and do some pre-game things and let Carter see everything but I suppose we will do that another time. Carter also had fun riding the shuttle bus to get there (there was absolutely NO parking on or near campus, so it felt like a real game!).
We made it to campus just in time to see the team come out on the field and get ready for kickoff. It was really hot outside but we all had a great time and Carter didn't want to leave the game.
Afterward, we went to see the new basketball arena (which was open for the public for the first time as a sneak preview). It was SOOO nice!!! Very impressive. And there were several other new buildings since we've last been on campus. It feels like it's been a lifetime because of all the changes and additions, but it's only been a couple of years!

We had made plans to meet up with Claire and family and sit with them at the game, but they weren't able to save us a seat (they got there early and had seats in the shade!). So, we went to dinner after everything was over and they ended up sitting right beside us - ha! We knew we were going to the same restaurant, but figured they would have already been finished eating since we went back to Eli's trailer and killed some time first. What a fun day and a great first experience for Carter. Hopefully we'll get to go to several games this fall. WAR EAGLE!!!!

Great pics! Looks like y'all had a blast. I hope we'll be able to take our boys to AU for a game soon. War Eagle!
Oh, the pic of Carter with his sunglasses on made me laugh...it looks like he has an earring on! I realized it's the lady's bracelet behind him. HA!
