Because you only turn 4 once, we planned a big, football-themed party for him (his birthday is in the right season for that!) and invited lots of his friends and our closest family over. We rented a bouncy house and a big inflatable slide w/ a ball pit at the bottom from some of our neighbors who have an inflatable business. Those were a big hit - those of us who were inside barely saw the kids all day!
The food consisted of football/stadium type food - regular nachos and Momma Goldberg style nachos, boiled and roasted peanuts, big, soft pretzels, mini hotdogs, popcorn, candy, etc. We even had little nacho trays and popcorn bags.
The giveaways were snack squares from Mint, which we resell.
After much playtime, we ate, opened presents and had cake and ice cream. Carter got so many nice presents this year!
The kids all hit a pinata, and we had some very strong boys that we thought would surely be the ones to break it... To everyone's surprise, little, dainty Samantha dealt the final blow - ha!
It was a very fun and exhausting day, and we are so thankful to have such great family and friends!

Oh, and I should mention that we had his party on a Sunday - his actual birthday was the following Tuesday, the 17th. On his real birthday, he took cupcakes to school and had a mini-party there. For dinner, he requested homemade chicken and dumplings with green beans and corn. I really tried to get him to pick somewhere to go eat out, but he wanted to stay home :)
